A Crowded Crease For the Bruins
The Estevan Bruins crease got a little bit more crowded with the news Derek Tendler has been released from the Swift Current Broncos of the WHL.
Tendler was the starting goalie for the Bruins a couple of seasons ago when he was a 17 year old, before joining the Vancouver Giants in January of 2010. Tendler spent the majority of last season with the Broncos, Tendler spent time with the Regina Pats in 2009.
The Regina native is a great character to have in the locker room, and he definitely makes the goaltender position an interesting battle in training camp with 20 year old goalie Shea Cooper set to return.
With Cooper's performance in the postseason last year, I would think he would he have the edge heading into training camp. But with a new Head Coach in Keith Cassidy, that might not be the case.
The majority of the Bruins are expected to be arriving on Wednesday, except Cooper, he's expected in town on Thursday because of his flight from Ontario.
