The quest for the RBC Cup started about 9 months ago with over 130 teams across the country looking at a shot to become a National Champion.
The long season ended yesterday at the Elgar Petersen Arena with the Penticton Vee's defeating the Woodstock Slammers 4-3 to claim the league final.
The game was tied 3-3 in the final minute of regulation before Joey Benik completed a perfect give and go pass to score the game winning goal of the tournament. The Vee's were on the powerplay when the goal was scored.
The Vee's lead 2-0 before Woodstock stormed back to take a 3-2 lead in the third before a Penticton comeback.
Now the hockey season is finally over, we can enjoy the summer and start the process all over again in September.
