Martinu Named SJHL Goalie of the Week
The Estevan Bruins Curtis Martinu was recognized by the SJHL as he was named the SJHL Goalie of the Week.
It was a stellar week for Martinu as he went 2-1 with a 1.67 GAA and a 951 SV% as the Bruins went 2-1. Martinu had a shutout streak of over 166 minutes as the 20 year old goalie picked up shutouts against the Notre Dame Hounds and the Humboldt Broncos.
On the season Martinu has played in 25 games with a 8-16-2 record with a 3.16 GAA and a 900 SV%. Martinu joins Tyler Kauk and Darcy DeRoose as other Bruins who have won Player of the Week Awards this season. Kauk was named Defenceman of the Week and DeRoose was named Rookie of the Week.
The Kindersley Klippers Giovanni Bombini was named the Player of the Week, The Klippers Shaun McPherson was named the Rookie of the Week and Brody Norrish was named Defenceman of the Week.
The Bruins are back in action tonight as they host the Yorkton Terriers at 7:30.
