Hopefully the Estevan Bruins winning streak isn't like my roll up the rim streak, that ended after 3 wins today.
The Bruins are coming off a dramatic overtime 5-4 win against the Mils in Game 1. The line of Mark Cross-Josh Jelinski- Troy Hunter delivered as advertised last night. They established a physical game and provided the energy and scoring the Bruins needed. With last change tonight, I'm sure Jaime Fiesel will be using it to his advantage against these 3.
I thought the Bruins top D pairing last night was Dominic Perrault and Matt Szpak. Both were solid defensively and didn't cough up the puck much, and they'll be expected to do the same again. Ty Ariss looked pretty good for his first game back, but Chad Leslie thinks Ariss can get even better as the playoffs move on.
I really thought it would be a no brainer Alex Sirard would start tonight, but I checked on Craig Stein's blog and Fiesel said he wasn't sure who would be starting in net. Rakochy may be the better goalie, and he's the future of the Mils goaltenders, but I think after last night, Melville will go back to Sirard, but it's all up to Jaime Fiesel.
We'll have Game 2 on CJ1280 and Discoverestevan.com beginning at 7:15.
Dave "The Hammer" Schultz will be the 2nd intermission guest.
