The Estevan Bruins showed off it's dramatic flare in a 5-4 overtime win over the Melville Millionaires.
The first period it was all Bruins as Mark Cross scored a hat trick and Ben Findlay added a powerplay marker to help the Bruins lead 4-1 after 1.
To Melville's credit they battled back. After pulling Zach Rakochy and putting in Alex Sirard, the Mils tied the game and sent it to overtime.
Josh Jelinski made it a short overtime with his game winner 46 seconds in.
Moments after the win I caught up with the overtime hero Josh Jelinski.
The line of Mark Cross Troy Hunter and Josh Jelinski was the difference for the Bruins. Cross Jelinski and Hunter are a rough line that will cause problems for other teams. With last line change tomorrow, it will be interesting to see who Melville matches that line with.
A couple of other Bruins who I thought were solid were Ben Findlay, Dominic Perrault and Matt Szpak.
Melville played a great road game and deserves credit for their comeback. The goalie switch was a stroke of genius by Jaime Fiesel and I think there's little doubt Sirard starts in Game 2.
How can Game 2 top Game 1? Not sure if it will, but tune into find out. 7:15 on CJ1280 and discoverestevan.com
