The Bruins will be looking for the sweep at home against the
Notre Dame Hounds tonight as the two teams meet at Spectra Place tonight in
Game 3 of their best of 5 Survivor Series. (7:15/Cj1280 and
discoverestevan.com)
Even though the series is in favour for the Bruins, both
games have been very close with the difference being that the Bruins have been
better in the second half of the games. The Bruins scored all 7 of their goals
in the second and third periods of this series. With the Hounds’ season on the
line tonight you can expect them to have a strong start like they did in Games
1 and 2. If the Bruins want to complete the sweep they’ll have to match the
Hounds intensity in the opening 20 minutes.
The Bruins have gotten their clutch goals in Game 2 from
Josh Jelinski and Tyler Paslawski who’ve
been playing great hockey since January along with Matthew Dochylo. Dochylo is
questionable for tonight’s game after sitting out Game 2 on Saturday.
The top line for the Hounds in the series has been Dayton Shaw-Greg
Ferguson- Ben Morgan. Each player has scored in the series and has created
numerous scoring opportunities in the series. Carson Grolla has been the stand out on the
Hounds blue line and I’m sure he’ll be playing a lot tonight for Notre Dame.
Game 1 four out of the five goals were scored on the power
play, while in Game 2 the Hounds scored the only goal on the power play.
If the Bruins lose tonight we’ll have Game 4 from Notre Dame
tomorrow night from Wilcox with coverage beginning at 7:45 and a 8:00 faceoff.
If the Bruins beat the Hounds, the Bruins and Weyburn Red Wings series would
likely start on Friday night in Weyburn.
