Bruins Lose to Klippers 4-2

The CanElson Drilling Estevan Bruins fell back to 5th place of the Sherwood Conference after the Kindersley Klippers beat the Bruins 5-3.

The Klippers were able to grab a 2-0 lead in a 19 second span in the opening period. Kolby Daniels scored the opening goal to give Kindersley a 1-0 lead and that was followed by Brett Printz banged a shot off the glass that took a funny bounce and caught Curtis Martinu out of position as he went to play the puck behind the net and just like that the Klippers lead 2-0 after one period.

In the second period the Klippers added to their lead when Cody McKinnon extended the Klippers lead to 3-0. Later in the period Roger Tagoona was ejected as he was called for checking from behind on Daniels. Daniels would be called for a roughing penalty but once Daniels stepped back on the ice he scored on the Klippers to make 4-0 after two periods.

In the final period the Bruins made things interesting as Austin Yano opened up the scoring to make 4-1. The Bruins made it 4-2 when Darcy DeRoose scored his 8th goal for the Bruins. The Klippers would get the insuance goal when Connor Gay scored on the powerplay to give the Klippers a 5-2 lead. Austin Daae added a late goal for the Bruins but Estevan would lose 5-3.
