Seven was the unlucky number for the Estevan Bruins last
night as they were defeated by the Nipawin Hawks 7-4. The loss drops the Bruins
losing streak down to seven games.
Nipawin grabbed a 2-0 in the first period, on the Hawks first goal former Bruin Jesse Bernard picked up his first point in the SJHL with an assist.
The Bruins would cut the lead to 2-1 after Calder Neufeld scored his 25th goal on the power play.
In the second period, the Bruins would get the lead after Dylan Smith and Michael Hengen scored for the Bruins. But the Bruins lead would only last 12 seconds when Stuart Holland scored for Nipawin to tie the game 3-3.
Nipawin would take control as they scored four times in the third period to win 7-4. Matt Brykaliuk scored for the Bruins in the third period.

After the game I talked with Brykaliuk who was playing in his first game after being out of the lineup for three weeks with a shoulder injury.
