The Estevan Bruins snapped their losing streak in dramatic
fashion as they defeated the Yorkton Terriers 4-3 in Yorkton.
The Bruins had more jump at the start than last night’s game against Nipawin, but were forced to kill off a 5 on 3 power play. Right after the power play Ryan Sookroo scored to give the Terriers the early edge.
Dylan Smith would tie the game on the power play for the Bruins with his 25th of the season. Derek Whitehill would score his 4th goal of the season on the powerplay to give the Bruins the edge heading into the third.

Tanner Froese scored his 6th of the season when
he buried a shot top shelf past Warren Shymko to extend the lead to 3-1.
Yorkton would stage a comeback as Brendan Poncelet scored on the
powerplay and with just over two minutes left, Nathan Murray tied the game for
the Terriers.
The Bruins got a powerplay with 50 seconds remaining
and Cole Olson scored with 16 seconds to give the Bruins the win.
Special teams were a telling stat in the win, the Bruins
went 3 for 6 on the powerplay while the Terriers were 1 for 8.
It was a great team effort by the Bruins, but there were a
couple of players who really stood out.
Steven Glass had another strong game for the Bruins in net
as he made 31 saves, Glass did an excellent job of controlling the rebounds all
night, Glass just keeps getting better and better for the Bruins. Glass improves his record to 8-7 on the season with the win.
Tanner Froese had a strong game up front, along with scoring the a goal, he made a big play on Whitehill’s
goal. Froese was in front and screened Shymko allowing the shot to go into the
net. The entire line of Whitehill-Froese and Taylor Reich had a strong game for
the Bruins.
Denin Boesch might have played his best game with the
Bruins, all night Boesch did a great job of moving the puck from his end of the
ice and moving bodies from the front of the Bruins net during the Terrier’s
power plays, giving Glass a clear look at the puck. After the game I spoke with Boesch.
