Bruins Lose Road Trip Opener to La Ronge 4-1


The Estevan Bruins opened up their three game road trip with a 4-1 loss to the La Ronge Ice Wolves in La Ronge.
La Ronge jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead in the first period, Pavlo Zerebecky and Aaron Enns scored for the Ice Wolves in the opening period.
The Bruins would cut the lead to 2-1 when Matt Brykaliuk scored his fourth of the season to cut the lead in the second period.  But less than three minutes later Tyson Valette scored his first goal of the season to cut the score to 3-1. Patrick Tran added a netminder to make the final.
It was a busy night for the goalies La Ronge’s Alex Rajotte made 45 saves to pick up the win for the Ice Wolves while Derek Tendler made 35 saves in the loss.
The two teams will meet Saturday at 7:30 in the second of their back to back matchup.
