Bruins vs Mils Preview

The Estevan Bruins will be looking to pick up their third straight win against the Melville Millionaires this season tonight as the Bruins host the Melville Millionaires at Spectra Place.

The Bruins have won their last 4 games, and a large part of their early success has been their top line of Calder Neufeld, Dylan Smith and Cole Olson. Each player is tied for the top spot of the  league leaders in points with 13 a piece, Neufeld leads the way in goals with 9 on the season. For his efforts Neufeld was named player of the week on Sunday and player of the month for September.

Since this is the third meeting of the season tonight, I'm expecting Melville to focus shutting down the Bruins top line. The Bruins secondary scoring will have to come up big tonight with some key goals.

Bruin fans got a chance to see Steven Glass for the first time this season on the weekend, as he backstopped the Bruins to a win against Notre Dame on Friday and then picked up the win against Melville on Saturday, with Shea Cooper now traded to Portage the goaltending duties will be split between Glass and Derek Tendler. I'm expecting Tendler to start tonight, after sitting out the last two games.

The Bruins will be looking to take advantage of a Millionaire's team that has surpisingly struggled early in the season. If the Bruins would win tonight they would clinch at least a tie in the season series with the Millionaires this season. The Bruins and Mils meet six times this season, with their final matchup coming up in early December.

Melville has gotten off to a slow start with a with a 1-3-0-1 start, and it appears that they will be without their Captain Lee Christensen for the next while after injuring himself off the ice last week.

Opening faceoff for tonight is 7:30 inside of Spectra Place, the Bruins haven't lost a game inside of their new arena.

I'm speculating that there will be no play by play for the webcast, but I'll find out the latest on that situation tonight when I head to the rink.
