Elecs Beat Swift Current 30-22

The ECS Elecs team improved their record to a 2-3 mark after a 30-22 decision over the Swift Current Colts, clinching at least fourth place in the Moose Jaw High School Football League.

The Elecs started strong with Dustin McGuish running in a 10 yard touchdown to give the Elecs a 6-0. Shortly there after Kyle Hovind recovered a blocked punt in the end zone to give the Elecs a 13-0 lead.

In the 2nd Quarter, Tyler Hodgson ran in a touchdown to extend the lead to 20-0 at Halftime.

Kyle Hovind kicked a 36 yard field goal in the third quarter for the Elecs to make it 23-7. The Colts would respond by recovering a fumble and taking it all the way for a touchdown.

Bucky Strongeagle would catch a 20 yard touchdown pass to give the Elecs a 30-7 lead. Swift Current would score two late touchdowns, but it goes down as a 30-22 win for the Elecs.

With the win the Elecs clinch at least 4th place and a chance to host the quarterfinal against Swift Current.

Next action is Friday October 14 when they host Vanier at ECS Field.
