Bruins Host Hounds Tonight
The CanElson Drilling Estevan Bruins will return to home ice tonight when they meet the Notre Dame Hounds.
The Bruins are coming off a dramatic win on Sunday in Battlefords as Hudson Morrison as he scored with 36 seconds left in regulation and sending the game into shootout. The Bruins Dylan Smith and Alex Cote scored and Curtis Martinu stopped two Northstars to perserve the win.
Smith will likely bring a lot of energy into Spectra Place tonight as he plays in his first home game of the season. Bruins Head Coach Keith Cassidy has been happy with Smith's play so far this year. He says Smith has not only scored for the Bruins but has brought leadership, energy and has returned to Estevan much improved.
Morrison has been the Bruins best player so far in 2013. He's scored 7 goals in the last 5 games. Cassidy noted that Morrison is relishing the role of being a top scorer for the Bruins and is getting more comfortable playing in the SJHL.
The last time Martinu faced the Hounds he earned a shutout win. He says that he's looking forward for another opportunity to meet the Hounds. He added that the Bruins have played their best against the top teams this year and is hoping that's the case tonight.
During the 2nd intermission of tonight's game the Bruins will be auctioning off a Steve Yzerman autographed Team Canada jersey with all the proceeds going to the Bruins scholarship fund.
You can catch tonight's game on CJ1280 and Discoverestevan.com beginning at 7:20.
