Bruins Lose Another Close One 4-3 against Melville
The Estevan Bruins dropped another close game as they were defeated by the Melville Millionaires 4-3 at Spectra Place.
Melville jumped out to a quick lead in the first when Sean Aschim scored for Melville 1:28 into the hockey game. The Bruins would tie the game when Hudson Morrison's jumped went over top of the Mils Alex Wakaluk and in the net.
The Bruins took the lead as the Bruins created a turnover shorthanded and Taylor Reich found himself on a breakaway and he would beat Wakaluk on a deke to give the Bruins the lead. But Melville responded 59 seconds later as Aschim found a loose rebound in front and tied the game 2-2 which was the score after 20.
Once again in the second period the Bruins gave up a pair of goals. First Christian Magnus took advantage of a 3 on 2 rush and beat Curtis Martinu to give the Mils the lead. With 27 seconds left in the period Russell Trudeau's lazer from inside the blue line snuck in past Martinu and the Millionaires lead 4-2 after two periods.
The Bruins came out and played a strong third period. They were able to cut the deficit to one when Nick Weiss scored but they were unable to get the equalizer as the Mils held on the for the win.
Martinu and Wakaluk both made 30 saves.
The two teams meet again in Melville tonight and you can catch the game on CJ1280 beginning at 7:20.
