Bruins On A Roll: Win Over Melfort

It was a thriller in Melfort, as the Bruins came from behind to beat the Mustangs 3-2 in a shootout, and now move into sole possession of third place.

The Mustangs were leading 2-1 halfway through the third until Dylan Smith scored his 21st of the season to tie the game, and eventually sending the game into overtime. Overtime settled nothing, and the Bruins would send Justin Waskewitch, Dylan Smith and Jonathan Ceci to shoot, in the shootout. And all three players would score to get the win for the Bruins.

It was a great game to watch with excellent play by both teams, and overall one of the best games I've seen this season.

Once again it was a strong team effort for Estevan, and the Bruins are playing their best hockey since October. The reason, is their depth. The Bruins are getting solid play from a lot of players, and every night a new player steps up to have a big game. Tonight I thought Dylan Smith was the best Bruin. Smith is regaining his scoring touch, and that's nothing but good news for the Bruins. The Bruins have a lot of weapons that are starting to end their slumps at the right time.

With the win, the Bruins are 2 points ahead of Weyburn with a game in hand, but they're now 7 points back of Kindersley with 2 games in hand. The way the Bruins have been playing over the last couple of weeks, I don't think 2nd place is out of the reach for the Bruins.
