Bruins Rebound in Weyburn

I was planning on posting before the Bruins-Red Wings game, but the internet connection was faulty in Weyburn.

The Bruins backs were against the wall heading into tonight's game with Weyburn. A loss would've likely sent the Bruins to the survivor series, but the Bruins picked up a huge 5-2 win over the Red Wings.

The Bruins were lead by Shea Cooper who stepped up with a HUGE game. In the first period, the Bruins started shaky but Cooper was up to the task as he made 10 saves. I counted at least 3 of those being highlight reel saves.

In the 2nd the Bruins took control with a pair of goals. Cole Olsen and Calder Neufeld got the Bruins on the scoreboard. Weyburn would tie it up, but before the end of the period, Joel Kot's shot deflected off a Red Wing stick and it went in the net, and the Bruins gained the lead. With a 3-2 lead in the third, the Bruins got a powerplay goal from Olsen. Mark Cross would add an empty net goal to give the Bruins a 5-2 win.

There were a lot of Bruin players who were strong tonight. Brett Rock, Tyler Spencer, Cole Olsen were a couple of standouts.

Shea Cooper was unbelievable. The Red Wings could've gotten an early lead, but Cooper played a strong game. There was no doubt Cooper was the best player on the ice for the Bruins.

While Cooper played strong, I expect Joel Danyluk to get the start on Tuesday against Yorkton.

But with the Bruins win, they control their own destiny. If they win their remaining 3 games, the Bruins will take 3rd place in the Sherwood Conference.

It should be a fun final week for the Bruins
