Bruins vs Klippers Tonight

For the first time this season the Estevan Bruins will meet the Kindersley Klippers.
The Bruins are heading into tonight's game on the heels of a tough 4-3 loss to the Notre Dame Hounds on Tuesday night. Meanwhile the Klippers head into the Energy City with a little bit of momentum after beating the Weyburn Red Wings 3-2 last night in Weyburn.

After the the tough loss on Tuesday, Bruins forward Nick Weiss says it's important to keep the locker room in a positive mood. He notes that as a 20 year old he has been in this situation before and and knows  it's important to keep team positive after a game where they worked hard and deserved a better fate.

Heading into tonight's game the Bruins are trailing the Klippers by a pair of points for fourth place in the Sherwood Conference. Weiss says even though it's only November there's a lot riding on tonight's game. He says this is as close as to a playoff game as you're going to get at this time of year.

Since being acquired a couple of weeks ago from Battlefords, Roger Tagoona has found some chemistry with Weiss. Weiss believes this is because the two players are very similar, they both like to play along the boards and drive the puck towards the net. Weiss scored his sixth goal on Tuesday night as a result of 2 on 1 play with Tagoona.

The Bruins are hoping home ice will be able to cure their power play blues. The Bruins have struggled with the extra man advantage this season. The Bruins ranked 11th in the SJHL with a 11.6%. Weiss says if the Bruins can improve on their power play it will likely lead to an extra goal or two goal a game which should be the difference in getting more victories.

The Bruins are hitting a light portion of the schedule. After tonight's game their next game is Wednesday in Melville. Following that game, the Bruins next game is Friday November 23 against La Ronge at Spectra Place.
