Bruins vs Mustangs Tonight

With a three week six game home stand looming, the CanElson Drilling Estevan Bruins will play their only three road games of January this weekend as they kick off the road trip with a match-up against the Melfort Mustangs tonight at the Northern Lights Palace.

The Bruins entered the contest in a three way tie for second place in the Sherwood Conference with the Yorkton Terriers and Melville Millionaires at 43 points, both Yorkton and Melville have three games on hand on the Bruins.

The Bruins are coming off a split in their weekend series with the Weyburn Red Wings, the Bruins were defeated last Friday by the Red Wings, before picking up a win on Sunday in Estevan. It was a big week for Cole Olson as he picked up player of the week honors as he had 1 goal and 3 assists in the two games the Bruins played on the weekend.

Tonight’s matchup will be the final meeting between the Bruins and the Mustangs, as the Bruins have claimed all three contests so far this season. The Bruins had to come from behind in their last encounter with 33 seconds left to send the game in to overtime before Tyler Paslawski scored in overtime to win the game for the Bruins
