Smith Named Player of the Week

Dylan Smith has made an impact with the CanElson Drilling Estevan Bruins since returning to the team after the January 10 trade deadline. Yesterday the SJHL recognized Smith with the SJHL Canalta Player of the Week Award.

Smith had a strong week as he collected a goal and three assists in a win over the Notre Dame Hounds on Tuesday.  He also had his team’s only goal in a loss to Nipawin on Friday and then helped the Bruins earn a single point in a loss to Melfort on Saturday by also scoring a goal to finish with three goals and three assists on the week.  He has 4-goals and 4-assists in 5-games this season.

Smith added the shootout winner in the one game that he didn't score in against Battlefords.

The Bruins are back in action on Friday night when they square off with the Flin Flon Bombers at Spectra Place at 7:30.
